A Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for eyes that see the huge nail polish stains on my bedroom carpet, for they also let me see the bright smiles of my children.
Thank you for the nose that lets me smell the potent aroma of nail polish and Windex, for it also lets me breathe in the sweet scent of their freshly washed hair.
Thank you for ears that let me hear their grating whining and cries, for they also let me hear their whispers of "I love you Mommy."
Thank you for the examples of Godly women in my life, for they have taught me to ask You to provide patience and peace.
Thank you for reminding me that carpet, bedskirts, sheets and clothes are mere possessions, and despite my frustrations, that children are a gift from You beyond price.
Thank you for loving me totally, completely, and endlessly anyway, when I mess up and (metaphorically) spill nail polish on Your carpet.
Amen.
